Outreach
Beginning in August 2020, our food basket program with White Owl Native Ancestry Association provides locally sourced food for Indigenous families and students in the region. Offered on a weekly basis, our baskets offer a variety of freshly harvested produce from the gardens, some homemade preserves we make throughout the year, and fresh baked sourdough bread from Golden Hearth Bakery.
If you have produce or food items to share, get in touch! We are seeking additional food sources (i.e., gardeners, farmers, and foragers) in the region to make our program year-round and add some diversity to our baskets.
Events
We also host a number of events that people can attend throughout the year. See below for details, and click on the event to register!

Organized by the University of Guelph Food Science Club in partnership with the Wisahkotewinowak Collective, the funds raised from the event will be used to support the food distribution program and a living wage for summer interns working in the Wisahkotewinowak gardens. To participate, all you have to do is pledge how many kilometres you are going to run or walk and invite friends and family to sponsor you. All skill levels are welcome and encouraged!
