Tea Garden
The Tea Garden is located at the University of Guelph’s Arboretum. This garden was established in 2018 through members of our Team and the Arboretum Director at the time. It was planted with various medicinal/herbal perennials that would grow well in a semi-shaded area with less maintenance.
The garden contains: sage, lemon balm, spearmint, bee balm, lady’s mantle, wild hyssop, chamomile, motherwort, wormwood silver, stinging nettle, yarrow, and wild thyme. The purpose of these plants were chosen to be used for tea and medicinal purposes to be offered through workshops for Indigenous students on campus. This garden also helps build up seeds that could be saved and planted for future areas, and shared with the local Indigenous community.
